Does your clinic's equipment need an annual checkup?

Biomed Service

Vonco’s biomed service includes electrical safety checks for every patient interactive piece of equipment that plugs into the wall and runs off of the building electrical grid.

  • E-Stim safety check that includes verification of output for each channel along with verification of the control panel features available. This does not include the actual adjustment or calibration of each channel. Actual calibration of a unit requires sending the unit back to the factory for adjustment.
  • Ultrasound safety check that includes verification of output for each sound head along with verification of the control panel features available. This does not include the actual adjustment or calibration of each sound head.

Vonco provides Electrical Safety Checks designed to verify that the medical equipment utilized in a Health/Rehabilitation clinic to ensure this equipment meets the IEC 60601-1 industry standards required by federal regulations. These biomed tests include the following:

Electrical Safety Analysis test (ESAT) – Identifies bad grounding in equipment that could adversely affect the patient.

Electrical Stimulation Output Test (ESOT) – Identifies voltage extremes that can affect a protocol in patient treatment that will affect a positive outcome.

Ultrasound Output Test (USOT) – Verifies ultrasound head operation and correct calibration. If a sound head is found bad, then it is noted with the customer and Vonco can assist the customer in arranging for a factory calibration n or replacement.

Traction Pull Test (TPT) – Verifies that an active traction head is providing the correct amount of pull force to the body and verifies the equipment is within limits and save to attach to the patient.

Once a piece of equipment has passed the required testing, Vonco provides a regulatory label that is directly attached to the equipment. A test form is completed and a copy is given to the clinic, while the original is kept by Vonco on file to provide inspectors a reliable way to verify biomed testing has occurred.

Biomed service and testing is required to be updated annually, and our service team takes a proactive approach in scheduling to assure a clinic is never out of compliance.

Vonco provides this state of the art biomed testing with the most current test equipment and a highly trained technical staff. To find out more about the biomed service, please fill out the following form to have our service department contact you and arrange for your annual testing.
